Certificates of Origin:-
Exporters have traditionally utilised Chambers of Commerce to ‘stamp’ trade documents such as Certificates of Origin whereby the Chamber certifies that the relevant goods are NZ goods. The Chamber may stamp either the standard Certificate of Origin form or a Certified Invoice form whereby the exporter declares the goods are of NZ origin and the Chamber confirms that the declaration is correct.
The certificate of origin is required so that the customs authorities in the importing country can establish the applicable (usually preferential) tariff, ensure that quota restrictions are not being breached, and collect statistical data. Some overseas importers may also require a certificate of origin for their own purposes regardless of whether the document is required by the relevant authorities.

The form should be completed and the required number of copies brought to the Chamber offices for signing. There is a charge for each set of originals:
